The first time that Nyari told me that she was getting married to Munya, I cried because I thought,,, my sister is gone and who is going to do all the stuff she used to do around the house. Now that I think back to that day, I guess it was because I really didn’t know Munya, but as time went on, I realised that, not only was God blessing Nyari with a good husband, but He was also blessing Rufaro and myself with a brother and my mum and dad with a son.

If I was asked to pick a husband for Nyari, I would pick Munya 7 times, because I know he loves my sister to bits and she loves him just as much. I am really happy for the both of you, because you have found something special that some people spend a lifetime looking for. And now as you start the best chapter of your lives together, all I can say is:

Love one another and you will be happy. It’s as simple and as difficult as that!!!!!

As inevitable as the river flows into the sea
And as sure as the sun sets in the evening…
(I know it’s only right for me to add the following line to that poem I’m working on),
…“The love the two of you share was meant to be”

From the outside looking in, anyone can see that what the two of you share is something real and untouchable and anyone can see that you have a lot in common and go together like pots in a kitchen. I hope that your seconds move as slow as minutes, your minutes like hours and your hours as slow as days, that way, you can have a longer time together.

I wish you the very best in all your pursuits and may God bless your every move and make all your dreams come true.

I am honoured to be part of the biggest day of your life.

Nyari, my sister – I don’t know what to say other than you are a great pain and the most amazing thing I just realized is that I am going to miss you. Which I for one think is rather weird but don’t worry I will be visiting every weekend so you won’t have time to miss me.
Thank you, for all those times you were there for me --- when you had to wash my nappies (isn’t life grand –being the youngest has its pecks) --- look after me when Auntie Helen told you too --- picking me up from Victoria Junior by bus and taking me back again on Sunday --- making dinner for us --- shopping for clothes --- giving me pocket money --- helping me get ready for prom, even though you were crying all the way throughout. Basically for making huge sacrifices for me and contributing to the woman I am becoming. I am forever grateful.
Munya thank you for making my sister shine, smile, laugh and be happy. You complete her. Now as you begin a new chapter of your lives I would like to say, “One man all by himself is nothing. Two people who belong together make a world,” and those two are you guys.
The best bit about all this is if someone wants to mess with me I can now say “my brother is gonna make you pay.” Isn’t it great?

An ideal marriage is a true partnership between two imperfect people, each striving to complement the other, to keep the commandment and to do the will of the Lord.

If there is one thing that Nyari taught me, that I have never proved otherwise, it is positive confession. I say this because I remember how we used to talk about how well we hoped for a better life. We used to imagine ourselves sitting in the garden of our houses sipping tea, with our children playing in the background, enjoying marriage life. It had to start somewhere and you have taken the 1st step to it all.  Let me say, Munya you rock!!! My babe is head over heels in love with you. You make her happy and any chat I have with her, has “Munya” in it. This involves a lot of laughter hence I couldn’t have agreed to anyone better than you. Initially it felt like you were taking away my sister, my mum, my friend away from me, then it dawned on me, finally we have grown up and its time for a new chapter to begin - We used to declare and decree it. Well it has come.

You know the bible says Love conquers all and indeed I have come to know that it never fails. So to Munya and Nyari, go conquer the world with your love and may many blessings follow you!!!

A few words:
It is such an honour to be participating in the wedding of the year... if i may say so myself. Munya & Nyari are an example to us all of the shining beacon that is love between two people. May their special day be a blessed one.
